LOG LINE
Finding a key between our world and Estoria, where the myths and legends of mankind are real, teenager Shai and his supernatural companion embark on a remarkable mission through both worlds to save Shai’s mother.

SYNOPSIS
A terrible accident transports shy, crippled teenager Shai to Estoria, a world he thought existed only in his own imagination, where he fantasises his own heroic adventures amongst the characters of myth and legend.

Now the victim of his own supposed reputation, Shai finds himself at the mercy of the many mythical figures populating this strange realm. But able to travel between our world and Estoria, he soon learns that events in one can affect the other. Guilt-ridden over an accident that left his mother vegetative, Shai decides he must find Estoria’s mysterious Seven, and entreat their help in saving her.

Befriended by the restless spirit Caper, Shai embarks on an epic journey through both the real world and the legends and stories of the Asia, Europe, Britain, Africa and Americas of Estoria. Along the way they encounter teachers and schoolyard bullies, as well as mythological figures ranging from the Sphinx to Baba Yaga to the Trumps of the Tarot.

But they are being hunted through Estoria’s strange lands: Shai by those who would stop him changing his mother’s foretold destiny; Caper by those who would force her to return to the home she endlessly travels to escape; and both by a powerful queen – who claims to be Shai’s real mother.

A funny, dramatic and heart-warming adventure romp about the power of imagination and friendship, Tales of Estoria blends animation and live-action to entrance and delight children and family audiences.
